Fire Investment

Protecting the local people of Surrey is high on the Council’s agenda after the county’s firefighters were equipped with new breathing apparatus.

Surrey Fire and Rescue has invested nearly £900,000 for 190 sets of new hi-tech breathing equipment, which include modern safety features keeping our firefighters safe.

Cabinet Member for Community, Kay Hammond, told local residents: “Safety is our top priority which is why we are investing in the fire service to make sure our firefighters have the equipment they need to save lives.”

This investment adds to the previous investment by the Council in July to buy 12 new fire engines.
